This panel was made by master carver Ketut Raja. I have another wall panel from him, a woman with a mirror, that you should also take a look at. This work is truly masterful. Perhaps it was a late work by Raja, for he must have had the experience to work out details such as the elegant hand position and the staggering of the different levels. I am very pleased to have found this carving in very good condition. 

The scene depicted is from the Ramayana epic. On the right is Rama, on the left is his brother Lakshmana the Rama. We may be seeing a scene here where Lakshmana swears allegiance to Rama.
