Is it an ascet? I think so, at least this man is like ascets are described, following his body shape and praying pose. But you can contact me to help figuring it out.

This work may be older, from the 1950s or 1960s. A perfect choice of wood, it's very dark and heavy. The man's face and posing is full of expression. You can see he is quite old of age and very thin, maybe living frugal because of religious reason. As he sits on a lotus flower base I'm sure that he is not only depicted as a common old man but one with spiritual background.

His fingers are so thin, a great showing of carving craftsmanship. The carving style meets Art Deco elements as well as traditional ones. One of my favorites in the collection and a good example for why I'm more into older traditional carvings than modern ones.
