This statue is probably from the 1940s or 1950s. What scene is shown here? Unfortunately, there is no information about the mythological background of the depiction and I have not seen a comparable scene so far.
A man is being held by a snake, the snake's head is behind the man's head. A female figure stands over the man, clutching another snake.
Thanks to a friend and expert in Bali carvings, who was already able to give a valuable hint: There may be a connection with the story of King Pandu, who killed a pair of snakes while they were making love. That's a bit uncertain, though, since no goddess or nymph (?) in particular appears in this story.
