As things stand at present, it is not clear which goddess is depicted here. The depiction resembles Devi Kadru in some aspects.
I chose this statue in particular because of the beautiful, classical pose and the unmistakable antique style, which fits in well with the collection. A closer look at the side profile reveals a clear Art Deco influence in the facial features. A possible indication that the carver was already active in the pre-war period.
